As hotel rooms are used by different persons every day, hygiene is very important. I would advise you to take into consideration the following details regarding cleanliness of the hotels that you are staying.
- SMELL: The most evident characteristics of hygiene in an environment is smell. A well-aired room where you can breathe comfortably gives you the first impression on cleanliness.
- ORDER OF THE OBJECTS IN A ROOM: Hotels rooms are places used for eating, drinking, rest and sleep at the same time. A good housekeeper in charge is very careful regarding details from cleanliness to the symmetry of all objects and equipment in the room. All labels should be seen clearly and this shows that standards are applied. Housekeeping personnel abiding by the standards raise the quality of their work.
- GLASSES AND MIRRORS: Glasses turned upside down and covered with a plastic or paper lid give the most important clue about cleanliness. Glasses or mirrors cleaned hygienically do not have water marks or any other stains.
- SWITCHES: Contact is one of the most important factors in spreading microbes. Switches and sockets get dirty frequently and get cleaned rarely. This detail also gives you an idea about the cleanliness of the room.
- REMOTE CONTROL: Remote controls should be handled carefully considering the fact that it is frequently touched.
- FLOORS: If you do not see any dirt on the floor, you can walk barefoot. But, we would suggest that you use the towel-slippers given by any high-quality hotel standardly.
- TAPS/FAUCETS: Calcification on taps is a sign of bad cleaning.
- AIR CONDITIONING: Black color on the loop holes of air conditioners show that the air ventilation of the room is not made properly.
